Day 1: Welcome to Luxor – East Bank Exploration

Embarkation on board before lunch. You’ll be welcomed with traditional hospitality and have time to settle into your cabin.

Afternoon Tour: Karnak & Luxor Temples

Karnak Temple Complex

A vast religious complex covering over 100 hectares. Walk along the grand Avenue of Ram-Headed Sphinxes leading to the imposing First Pylon, then explore the legendary Hypostyle Hall, home to 134 towering columns, each richly inscribed with hieroglyphs. Discover sacred lakes, obelisks, and the Precinct of Amun-Re, all revealing layers of history spanning over 1,500 years.

Luxor Temple

Gracefully lit by the afternoon sun, Luxor Temple was a center of divine rejuvenation. Admire colossal statues of Ramses II, the remnants of the Abu Haggag Mosque built into the structure, and the continuation of the Sphinx Avenue, which once connected it to Karnak.

Return to the boat for tea time and relaxation on the sun deck. Dinner on board and overnight in Luxor.

Day 2: Luxor West Bank – Royal Tombs & Temples | Sail to Esna

Morning Tour: The Legendary West Bank

Valley of the Kings

Enter the hidden world of the Pharaohs. You’ll visit three royal tombs, each carved deep into the Theban cliffs and painted with vibrant scenes of the afterlife. Optional entrance to the tombs of Tutankhamun or Seti I (extra cost).

Temple of Queen Hatshepsut

An architectural wonder built into the limestone cliffs at Deir el-Bahari. This multi-terraced temple honors Egypt’s first female pharaoh, featuring elegant colonnades, detailed reliefs, and panoramic views of the Theban necropolis.

Colossi of Memnon

Two imposing statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, once guarding a grand temple long lost to time. Hear the legends of the “singing statues” told by locals.

Return to the cruise for lunch on board. Begin sailing south toward Esna, passing charming villages and green riverbanks. Experience passing through the Esna Lock. Dinner and overnight on board while sailing toward Edfu.

Optional Hot Air Balloon

Experience the magic of Luxor from above with an early morning hot air balloon ride. As the sun rises over the Nile, you’ll float gently above the Valley of the Kings, temples, and farmlands, offering a breathtaking panoramic view of ancient Thebes bathed in golden light. It’s a serene and unforgettable way to start your day.

Day 3: Temples of Horus & Sobek – From Edfu to Kom Ombo

Morning Tour: Edfu Temple

Reach the site by horse-drawn carriage, giving you a feel of 19th-century travel.

Temple of Horus at Edfu

The most completely preserved temple of the ancient world. Built during the Ptolemaic period, it celebrates Horus, the falcon-headed god of kingship and protection. Walk through its grand pylon, explore vast courtyards, intricate reliefs showing the battle between Horus and Seth, and step into the Holy of Holies where rituals were once performed.

Return to the boat and enjoy lunch on board as you sail to Kom Ombo.

Afternoon Tour: Kom Ombo Temple

Temple of Kom Ombo

A rare dual-deity temple, perfectly symmetrical and mirrored. One half honors Sobek, the crocodile god, protector of the Nile; the other is dedicated to Horus the Elder, god of kingship and the sky. Explore the detailed medical instruments carved in stone, the ancient calendar, and the remarkable stories of healing.

Visit the Crocodile Mummification Museum.

Return to the cruise. Dinner and overnight on board as you continue sailing to Aswan.

Day 4: Aswan – Nubian Charm & Modern Marvels

Morning Tour: High Dam, Philae Temple & Unfinished Obelisk

High Dam

A modern engineering masterpiece that tamed the mighty Nile, providing electricity and irrigation to millions. Enjoy panoramic views of Lake Nasser.

Temple of Philae

A magical complex located on Agilkia Island, accessible only by boat. Dedicated to Isis, goddess of love and magic, this temple was meticulously relocated stone by stone during the UNESCO rescue project. Its elegant columns, sacred sanctuaries, and lakeside setting make it a true gem of Aswan.

Unfinished Obelisk

Explore the ancient granite quarries and see the largest obelisk ever attempted, still lying in situ. This site offers a unique glimpse into ancient Egyptian stone-working techniques.

Return to the cruise for lunch on board. Afternoon at leisure or optional felucca sailing. Dinner and overnight on board in Aswan.

Optional Nubian Village Visit

Discover the colorful world of the Nubian people with a visit to one of Aswan’s traditional villages. Accessible by boat along the Nile, you’ll explore charming mud-brick homes painted in vibrant colors, meet friendly locals, and learn about Nubian customs, music, and lifestyle. It’s a culturally rich experience that offers a warm glimpse into Egypt’s southern heritage.

Day 5: Farewell & Optional Abu Simbel Visit

Breakfast on board and disembarkation in Aswan.

Optional Abu Simbel Temples (From Aswan)

An early morning excursion to Abu Simbel takes you to one of Egypt’s most awe-inspiring sites. These monumental temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari are carved directly into the rock and face the rising sun. Relocated in a remarkable UNESCO effort, they stand as a timeless tribute to ancient engineering, devotion, and grandeur – truly must-see.

  • Depart early morning by car or flight (at extra cost)
  • Visit the awe-inspiring temples of Ramses II and Queen Nefertari
  • Carved into a sandstone cliff overlooking Lake Nasser
